Straightforward advice on water softeners, hard water, and getting the most from your Notric system.

What is hard water?

Hard water is water that contains high levels of dissolved minerals, primarily calcium and magnesium. These minerals are picked up as rainwater passes through chalk and limestone rock formations underground. While hard water is safe to drink, it causes limescale buildup in pipes, appliances, and on surfaces — leading to higher energy bills, damaged appliances, and more time spent cleaning.
